German Ambassador Dr Gunter Mulack and First Secretary of German Embassy Ellen Goelz called on Punjab University vice-chancellor Arshad Mahmood here on Monday.

Briefing the visiting dignitary about the university's departments, teaching faculties, students and academic programmes, the PU vice-chancellor said the university was comprised of 13 faculties, 69 departments, nine constituent colleges, over 24,000 on-campus students and 408 affiliated colleges.

He said syllabus had been converted into curriculum, adding the university offered special facilities to foreign students at very reasonable fee structure.

He said the university was providing scholarships to the needy and talented students.

German Ambassador said the Germany was going to set up a German Office Exchange Service in Lahore.

Pakistan had world-class educational institutions, he said, and stressed for Pak-German collaboration in the field of academic and research.
